In 2014, Shawn recorded his original song, "Holy Is the Lamb," marking an important milestone in his musical journey and his desire to share God's message through worship. During this season, he also wrote "We've Come into This House," a worship song that reflects his passion for creating an atmosphere where people can experience the presence of God. These accomplishments further strengthened his calling to minister through music and encouraged him to continue using his gifts to inspire others.
In 2015, Shawn experienced one of the most difficult seasons of his life when he lost his beloved mother to cancer. The loss deeply affected him, bringing grief, uncertainty, and emotional challenges. Despite this heartbreaking experience, Shawn's faith in God remained his foundation. He also found unwavering love, encouragement, and guidance through his Godmother, Felicia, whose support helped him persevere during one of the darkest times in his life.
Shawn graduated from Garner Magnet High School in 2018 before continuing his education at St. Augustine's University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 2023. Committed to expanding his ability to serve others, he is currently pursuing a degree in Mortuary Science at Fayetteville Technical Community College, preparing for a career that combines professionalism, compassion, and ministry to families during their time of loss.
Looking toward the future, Shawn has a vision of establishing an Outreach Ministry dedicated to serving individuals and families in need while sharing the love of Christ throughout the community. He also aspires to open a funeral home that provides affordable and compassionate services to those who may not otherwise have access to quality end-of-life care. In addition to his educational pursuits, Shawn faithfully serves on his church's Praise and Worship Team and volunteers as a sound technician, using his musical talents and technical skills to enhance worship experiences. His passion for creativity also led him to launch a digital graphic design company in 2020, where he creates professional branding, promotional materials, and digital media for churches, ministries, businesses, and community organizations. Through every endeavor, Shawn remains committed to using his gifts, education, and faith to encourage, uplift, and positively impact the lives of others.
